Currently, I'm down 11 pounds... I'll re-weigh myself tomorrow. The scale at the gym says I'm down 15, but I don't believe it. Haha! Also... speaking of the gym and working out... I FINALLY was able to run my first mile straight without stopping last
friday... but have as of this time been unable to duplicate it. Which, yes, makes me quite a bit nervous since I have to run 5 miles at the end of March for the Shamrock... YIKES!!! Patrick gave me a "pep talk" about it last night... it was a bit intense... I'm really realizing that running is 99% mental and only about 1% physical... and the mental part sucks!!!
Our work Christmas party was a few weeks ago... it was a blast... we boogied down on the dance floor. Here's some pics...

Me and Tina starting the night off looking cute.

Me, Patrick, and Tina. You know... if any other guy was standing in between two hot chics, they'd be smiling... hmmm...

Tina, Nicole, and myself.

Tina and I again... with Michael giving us bunny ears. Didn't we do that when we were in, like, elementary school?

Peggy, me, Jen, Tina, and Nicole. Jen FINALLY showed up after dinner... about 2.5 hours after the party had started!
Let's see... what else... Christmas was nice. Matthew came back home for a few days for Christmas from Florida... we scared the crap out of mom because she didn't know he was coming back... it was a total surprise. It was pretty cool. I wish he could have stayed longer, but I need to be thankful for the time I have with him.
Again, like I said, this was a brief overview. I'll try and be better about posting in the coming year. I'm having a New Year's party at my place tomorrow night... so maybe that will be a good way to start, eh? I'LL TRY!!!

Running is completely mental. When I did my first 1/2 marathon, I kept talking to myself to keep motivated. My top motivating statements were
"A 6 minute mile and a 12 minute mile are both the same distance."
"It's ok to be slow (and walk a little)--there's other penguins out here. You just have to finish!"
There are days that I can't run a mile straight through. It happens. I hope you're training runs are going well!
Happy New Year!
Did ya register yet?
FYI--CARA has training programs that run along the lake front for assorted distances. I'm doing the one for Winter Marathon Training. They offer 5k, 10k and 1/2 marathon, in addition to the one I'm doing. Just throwin' it out there. Besides, membership has it's benefits! (Discounts, support, scenary...)
Now, I feel like I have a third blog in your comment section!!
I got an email from CARA yesterday. They have a Tuesday Night Training Program for the Shamrock Shuffle. It's six runs, ranging from 3 to 6 miles and each one starts and ends at an Irish Pub. (I LIKE it!!) First 200 registerants get a tech shirt that lists the bars and acts as your "training" log. I'm totally registering for this!! If you're interested, I can forward you the info, or you can look on the website, cararuns.org. Running for beer is good (trust me, I know!!)
